Hi everyone, hope you all had a wicked xmas and hopefully a better 2007 will be had by all.
So the end of Saddam has come, right or wrong? I say its right after what he put people through but others say he should of been imprisoned for life. Who pays for keeping him locked up for life? Tax payers would! And why should he live when so many died? Many of them innocent.
The war shouldnt have started, so many innocent people continue to die and will i think for years to come. Was their an alternative?
Anyway, i guess everyone is planning their New Years Eve parties and celebrations and i am one of them. Havent decided what to do yet but it`ll involve much merriment.
All the best to you all..Lee x

Bank Charges
I guess most of you have seen in the news (yesterday) that bank charges have been condemned.
We get charged £30 when a DD doesnt go through or a cheque bounces, i realise the charge is different depending on account but it has transpired that it only costs the bank between £2.50 - £5 for these.
So the rest of the charge is their profit! What a damn cheek. And Halifax, to name one, applies a higher bank charge to those with an account only those on a low income can hold whilst those that work and have super current accounts pay a lesser charge..is that fair?
Anyway, on www.moneyexpert.com, they have designed a template letter which you can download. The story i read on AOL news yesterday said that 180,000 of these letters had been downloaded and sent to banks, i believe the lette threatens the bank with Court Action over the charge. The story said that in ALL cases the bank refunded the charge.
You will also find information at the Office of Fair Traing website (www.oft.gov.uk) type in Bank charges as a search and the info will come up.
I hope this helps some of you.....

Television
Hi everyone, well its almost Christmas... im not sure whether i laugh or cry at this point?
Anyway, what entertainment will be put on for us this Christmas? Repeats of everything we saw last Christmas i expect??
I dont object to things like Morcambe & Wise, the classic British comedies being shown, afterall we just dont make shows like that anymore.
All we have to look forward to these days are Reality TV, on nearly every station at some stage in the year, many which have run their course and need to disappear. Im a Celebrity? No you're not mate, thats why you`re on this show!
We are all brainwashed into voting, i did only twice ever, and the shows makers rake in fat profits whilst we are left to pay for our voting on top of everything else.
I just think TV has got worse, we dont make TV like we used to in this Country. No more Leonard Rossiter, Ronnie Barker, Morcambe & Wise, Tommy Cooper, Benny Hill... they will never be replaced and this is the unfortunate thing. Unfortunate as it has meant the demise of TV.
There are no moe Gameshows - Strike it Lucky/Rich, Family Fortunes (not celebrities), The Generation Game - WHY???? I see Play your Cards right is now on in the afternoons.
Its high time the public shouted very loud at Broadcasters to sort their programming out.

Integration in society
A friend of mine told me the other day that sky news had featured an item through the day on the debate of changing the name of christmas and that many big companies ban xmas decorations so that people may not be offended - does India stop celebrating Divali because Westerners are in India? I dont think so......
This Government has got it wrong so many times on various subjects and this is their latest disaster to date... the problem is that Consultants to the Government, decision makers and the top ministers live on a different planet. They havent lived in the real world like many of us have, saying that im sure one or two of them have lived a normal life and have managed to claw their way to the top...not many though...
Why do people worry about offending others through celebrating Christmas and putting up decorations? Is the majority of Muslims, Jews, Buddists etc offended by us celebrating this traditional holiday?
Shouldn't the onus be on "if you dont like what we do in our society then dont come here"..much the same as Tony Blair said in yesterdays televised speech..
I think its time to sort this out once and for all, instead of trying to hide our traditional celebrations why dont we offer more to those who celebrate their own things such as Divali, Eid etc. How would they like us to be more accepting of their celebrations?
I say leave Christmas alone and if anybody has a problem with it then first of all they really should think of the celebrations that take place in their home Country, and they should ask themselves if their Country would ban its own celebrations....i think not..
MP's should start sorting out the real issues in this Country and not trying to hide them by starting silly debates on things like this.....
None of my many black or asian friends have a problem with it...
Comments please....................

Adverts
Has anybody noticed that television adverts have suddenly got longer, they must be atleast 3 minutes long these days. On some channels, UKTV Gold for example, a 30 minute programme is edited so much, i think to cram adverts in, that it ends up being about 20 minutes long with about 7-9 minutes of adverts either end and inbetween..
WHY?
We all know which washing powder we like, we dont care that one of them now gets your whites even whiter, we all like the tea we buy, everybody is aware of baked beans.. Why do we need to see these things advertised?
One year we are told that a washing powder gets the whites whiter but didnt they say that about the previous powder? They enjoy brainwashing us and its sad to think that many of us rush out on the orders of an advert to buy these items.
We all know that adverts pay for a station to run but come on, surely the onus should be on the programme content not which adverts can be crammed in for peak time viewers or which is the biggest advertiser that can be attracted. Its all about money these days rather than decent entertainment for us hard working people to enjoy...
Please feel free to add your comments or email me examples of advert breaks being too long and i will name and shame them for you.

Hi there

My names Lee, originally from London but now in Bournemouth. Im 28 and full of opinions and observations, so much so im ready to explode.
Well it all begins here i guess, finally got round to putting my thoughts and observations on paper.. er well in writing at least...
The world eh, not very nice at the moment. All this war and death going on around us, poisonings in London, and on a lighter note the length of television advertisements these days. Aaaargh! CHRISTMAS is almost here aswell.
The things that niggle us need to be shouted about, to make people understand what makes us tick and that we do care about what goes on but society makes us guarded...
